Nicole

As a competitive dancer, Nicole’s first yoga class (with her parents) at 13 years old felt too slow to be doing anything. Fast forward to university overseas, she decided to return to the mat for a practice that could help her keep up with her fitness goals from the comfort of her bedroom. Gradually, she found joy in the long static holds of Hatha and the fluid movement of a creative Vinyasa. Her practice has always focused on flexibility and core strength, but she has recently grown to love arm balances and inversions, too. Ever the extrovert, Nicole keeps her classes lighthearted and fun while still offering a challenge for all levels.

After the birth of her son in 2019, Nicole was eager to reclaim her body and regain her fitness, throwing herself straight into HIIT workouts and strength training. It was only later that she realised she had neglected her deep core and pelvic floor in her rush to lose the baby weight and appear physically fit. As such, she is keenly interested in Prenatal & Postpartum yoga to help mums like her build strength (mentally, emotionally, and physically) and develop a greater awareness of their breath and bodies. Here, the focus is less on the physical shape and appearance of the body but on the confidence in the body’s ability to adapt and evolve.

Off the mat, Nicole is an English Language Specialist and runs an enrichment centre. She is an avid reader by nature of her day job and is also a freelance art writer. Nicole also volunteers with Halogen Foundation as a mentor and a business speaker to young students on the NFTE programme.
